Comprised of merged and acquired banks across Oklahoma and Arizona, First Fidelity began in 1920 as First State Bank of Norman, Oklahoma. Two years later, the bank applied for a national charter and changed it's name to City National Bank & Trust Company. In 1952, John Raymond Symcox of Cordell, Oklahoma acquired the bank. In 1986, Bill Cameron acquired Commercial Bank of Oklahoma City and in 1989 changed the name to First Fidelity Bank, N.A First Fidelity merged with City National Bank in 1992, marking the beginnings of the $1 billion organization we are today. As expansion continued, First Fidelity Bank Arizona opened its doors in 2004 as a commercial loan production office.
