The San Diego Mesa College Foundation World Art Collection is a diverse and expansive collection of over 1200 cultural artifacts from Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Pacific regions. Established in 1976, the collection has grown through generous donations and is managed by Art Historian Dr. Denise Rogers, providing valuable resources for students studying Art History, the Humanities, Black Studies, Studio Art, and the general public.
Each semester, selections from the collection are exhibited in the Glass Gallery located on the first floor of the campus Learning Resource Center, offering students enrolled in Art History courses and the Mesa College Museum studies program hands-on training. The collection aims to preserve and showcase the rich artistic traditions of various cultures, fostering cultural understanding and appreciation.
