In 2010, he began to consult with organizations and businesses to increase wellness in workforces as well as teach public speaking and presentation skills. In 2012, Brett began offering group Alexander classes to actors. In 2013, Brett was hired by BodyChance, a Japanese company, to teach Alexander classes at their studio in Los Angeles. In 2014, Brett was hired as an instructor on UCLA's wellness program to teach weekly Alexander Technique and Tai Chi classes to faculty and staff. Also in 2014, Brett became the resident Alexander Technique instructor at the John Rosenfeld Studio in Hollywood. Looking ahead, AlexanderTechLA strives to serve the Los Angeles community by providing excellent Alexander Technique instruction.
Specialties
Improve Your Body. Transform Your Life. I show people how to drastically improve their posture to eliminate pain, increase performance and restore charisma by teaching how the body is designed to move. I can help people improve the performance of any human activity, from washing dishes to golf to acting. The Alexander Technique (AT) teaches us how to reverse and prevent this degeneration by becoming aware of our negative, habitual patterns. We learn to subtract them from our movement, thus restoring the dynamic coordination, balance, and efficiency of the whole body. Since Alexander Technique addresses basic human movement, it can be applied to and improve the performance of any human task - from basic activities like sitting, standing, walking, holding a child, washing dishes to the most complex, such as dance, athletics, yoga, playing musical instruments. Unlike other modalities that often address the symptoms, the Alexander Technique is a permanent, on-going solution to the problems of poor movement quality and pain brought about by inefficient coordination. My Om studio is in Burbank, CA (near Magnolia and Niagara St.). Parking is easy and the studio is on the ground floor. I will give you the specific address when we we schedule a lesson. I also teach on location, homes, work environments, on set, etc. I charge a travel fee for this service depending on the commute distance. I accept cash, check or PayPal.
