HistoryI received my Marriage and and Family Therapist License in 1993 and have maintained a private practice in the Santa Cruz area since that time.SpecialtiesThe focus of my psychotherapy practice is in treating men, women, children and teens who struggle with food, weight, and body image disorders. This includes anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, no he eating disorder, compulsive overeating, emotional overeating, selective eating disorder, body dysmorphia, orthorexia, compulsive exercise, night eating syndrome, and yo yo dieting. To treat these disorders I offer: Family Based Therapy (Maudsley) for children and teens, Therapeutic Meal Support Groups, Group and Individual Cooking Experiences, targeted evidence based therapies such as Enhanced CBT, DBT, and ACT, Creative Arts Groups, Intuitive Eating Groups, and Monthly Drop-In Caregiver Support Groups. I have been licensed and treating eating disorders since 1993. My style is warm, compassionate, and straightforward. I use a practical approach to assist people in developing a healthy relationship with their food, weight, and body image issues, while also helping them to understand and resolve the underlying issues.
