American Restaurant Group, best known via its subsidiary Stuart Anderson's Black Angus and Cattle Company Restaurants, began in Seattle, Wash. in 1964. The restaurant started with a concept to provide patrons with a top quality, complete steak dinner at an affordable price served in a warm, comfortable atmosphere with friendly service. Today, the restaurants have more than 88 locations in the West, Southwest and Midwest and have received many notable Best Steakhouse awards from such notable publications as Restaurants and Institutions Magazine, Sacramento Magazine, Orange County Register, Riverside Press Enterprise, Santa Clarita Valley Magazine, Bakersfield Californian and others. Each Stuart Anderson's restaurant has approximately 75 employees and serves an average of almost 3,000 customers per week. The company is based in Los Altos, Calif.
