On January 12, 1960, Garden Grove city employees requested approval to establish Garden Grove City Employees Federal Credit Union. On January 16, 1960 it was approved as such and would become Golden West Cities Federal Credit Union in March of 1976. From the beginning, the Credit Union had a simple goal - to provide high quality financial service to members. Since our founding, Golden West Cities Federal Credit Union has been successfully serving members and we look forward to helping you and your family with all your financial needs. Belonging to Golden West Cities Federal Credit Union means you are a member-owner. Everything we do is uniquely created with you in mind. Members elect a board of directors who serve without pay and help oversee the operation of the credit union. An additional set of checks and balances is provided by the Supervisory Committee, volunteers who act as liaisons with members and the management team.
