History
El Dorado Hills Bowmen has been at their current location since ElDorado Hills CSD was formed. This is not a business, but rather a sporting club who's members (paying voulenteers) put in tons of work to keep the range operating, open to the public, and looking good. There are no paid staff, and all donated money goes to further improving the range.
Specialties
The El Dorado Hills Bowmen is a 28 station NFAA 5 Star certified Field Archery range, which also includes a 10/20 yard training area, and a 30 to 100 yard sight-in range, a 70 yard broadhead tuning area. The range also has a few picnic tables you can use to enjoy the area. They range has been recently upgraded from haybale target stops, to very solid high density foam target bales. The range does NOT allow the use of crossbows, guns, slingshot, spears, or other projectile firing tools, as these all create excessive and extremely rapid wear on the target stops. Only field points are allowed for the arrows on the course, sight-in and training ranges. They do have a specialty area which can be used for broadhead arrow tuning, with targets which can be destroyed (as a very few shots with boradheads will destroy the foam target stops, vs 10s of thousands of field point shots). Please be kind and respectful at this range and follow the posted rules, as everything you see at the range is kept up by voulenteers who actually pay to join the club so they can donate time and put in hours of work keeping this range operating and open to the public. If you are not a member, to use the range you must park outside the gate (which is normally locked), and walk up the hill. We ask non-members to provide a $5 donation in one of the collection boxes to help fund targets, stops, sheds, weed control, trails, bathrooms, and more. The range has no staff, and does not rent equipment.
