History
My first memory of doing massage is from age 15. I became interested in Oriental Medicine 24 years ago when I went to my 900 hour massage training in FL. In 2006, I was licensed by NY State to do acupuncture, and I was licensed in CA for East Asian Medicine [herbs, food, Qi Gong plus Acupuncture] in 2013.
Specialties
My sessions are often a combination of acupuncture and bodywork for 1.5 hours. Mostly I work with people who have chronic pain. East Asian Medicine addresses the whole body at the same time, so even when I am working on musculoskeletal issues, other things improve. For instance, your digestion gets smoother, or your sleep is deeper. Many people come for stress, sleep issues, digestion problems, hormone balancing, etc. This form of medicine does not 'chase symptoms', it helps to restore homeostasis - which is a completely different approach from western medicine. These are usually one hour sessions, after the initial appointment. I do Non-Insertion Techniques [no needles!] of Aroma-AcuPoint Therapy[tm], tuning forks and magnets - all of them on acu-points to work similarly to using the acu-pins. My hours are flexible - sometimes mornings, sometimes weekends. Yelp's form doesn't let me say that elsewhere!
