The Foundation for Medical Care of Kern County is a physician-directed organization that provides networks of health care professionals to the California counties of Kern, Santa Barbara, Mono and Inyo. The members of the networks agree to provide health care to those enrolled in foundation-sponsored programs according to established policies and reimbursement levels. The primary purpose of the Foundation for Medical Care of Kern County is to provide affordable health care while allowing a wide choice of providers. Peer reviews and utilization reviews are conducted on an ongoing basis to assure that treatment is provided according to up-to-date medical policies. The Foundation for Medical Care of Kern County is headquartered in Bakersfield, Calif.
