The Jail Department caters to the needs of various male and female inmates. It offers a range of correctional services and activities. The department is a part of the County of Glenn in California, which has a population of more than 26,900 people. Incorporated in 1891, the county governs the Planning & Public Works Agency, which is responsible for fostering and monitoring development projects, as well as constructing, operating and maintaining public infrastructure. The agency operates a road division that manages traffic signals, bridges, drainage structures and flood control facilities. In addition, the Planning & Public Works Agency has a building division that enforces construction codes and conducts inspections.
