The Half Moon Bay Chamber of Commerce & Visitors' Bureau offers a variety of services for business owners, visitors, and residents in Half Moon Bay and its surrounding coastside communities. The Chamber includes nearly 700 business members. In exchange for an annual membership fee (which varies based on the type of business and the size), members receive benefits such as direct referrals to the public, a listing in the Chamber's online directory, opportunities to attend seminars and workshops on good business practices, networking opportunities, and help with starting a new business.
Whether it be for a vacation or possible relocation, those seeking more information about Half Moon Bay and the Coastside can contact the Chamber with questions, and referrals to any of the Chamber's members. The Chamber will also mail out visitor packets upon request. The Chamber is also very active in Half Moon Bay and the Coastside community. At Half Moon Bay High and Pilarcitos Alternative School, its members gave students real-world advice on choosing a career path. They also helped the students with job interviewing skills and developing their resume. Every year, the Chamber gives scholarships to students at Half Moon Bay and Pescadero High Schools. Chamber President Charise McHugh is also a champion of ecotourism, and has lead the Chamber's efforts to develop a program along the San Mateo County Coastside.
