The Cordova Church of the Nazarene, built in 1963, predates many of the surrounding houses and shopping centers. Its congregation of about 130 people holds two Sunday morning services and Wednesday night study groups that include youth activities, drama classes and discussion groups. Church of the Nazarene missionaries are spread across the world, and locally the church provides groceries to needy families each month and free meals every Wednesday night. Pastor Steve Murakami is in his eighth year at the church and previously was a pastor in Hawaii.
