History
When Mary and Gerhard Michler first opened the doors to their wholesale European Bakery (Creative International Pastries, Inc.), the Potrero Dogpatch area of San Francisco offered few options for quality food and dessert establishments. With the irresistable smell of their European desserts baking in the ovens wafting through the American Industrial Center building, it wasn't long before there was a constant flow of other tenants and workers finding their way through the large building, knocking on the bakery doors requesting/pleading to purchase their desserts. It was due to the relentless demand of their neighbors that Mary and Gerhard ultimately decided to open a grab & go style petite cafe inside their large bakery facility. Over time, the Potrero Dogpatch area of San Francisco has grown into a culinary mecca and with it, the Jolt'n Bolt Bakery & Cafe has evolved as well. What hasn't changed is the original goal Mary and Gerhard had to provide sustenance to their neighbors.
