Dr. Jonathan G. Steller is a board-certified UCI Health obstetrician and gynecologist who specializes in maternal-fetal medicine and high-risk pregnancy. His clinical interests include fetal ultrasound and fetal health. Steller earned his medical degree at the UCI School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology. He received fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora. His research focus includes improving the use of ultrasound in the triage of fetuses affected by intrauterine growths with novel cerebral and umbilical circulation measurements. He also shares a passion for the intersection of space medicine and reproductive health. An aerospace medicine physician and researcher with NASA’s Exploratory Medical Capabilities team, he studies the risks of long-duration spaceflight on the gynecologic and reproductive health of astronauts. In addition, he is studying fetal growth restrictions, maternal endocrine disorders and the effects of chronic low-dose radiation on pregnancy outcomes in mice. He is the author or co-author of more than a dozen peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters. In his spare time, Steller enjoys playing beach volleyball and cheering on the UCI men's volleyball team, for which he played as an undergraduate, becoming a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division 1 All-American and national champion, and earning the university's Lauds & Laurels award for outstanding student-athlete in 2009.
