League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley

The League of Women Voters of Diablo Valley is a nonpartisan political organization serving the people of Contra Costa County and, more specifically, residents of Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda. It operates from an office at the Lafayette Community Center. The league's stated mission is to encourage local participation in government, taking special pains to neither support or oppose any political party or candidate while ensuring that information and discourse on issues and candidates takes place. After study, the league says it may use its position to advocate for or against policies it feels may be in the public interest. The league hosts a number of political forums and candidate sessions, all intended to furnish the electorate with unbiased nonpartisan information about elections, the voting process and local issues.
