Michele Lane's Learning Center celebrated thirty years in business in 2010. The Center provides educational evaluations and often works hand-in-hand with psychologists and psychiatrists. Her clients range in age from preschool to adults, but she works mostly with special-needs children. She helps design individualized education plans and meets often with teachers and parents. She tutors kids in content areas that have been specified in those plans.
Lane has a master's degree in special education from Dominican University of California and is certified by the Association of Education Therapists. She is an expert on the tax implications of having a child qualified as learning disabled, and she regularly consults on educational programs and the integration of learning with physical movement.
Lane is a fifth-generation Marin resident who works out of an office behind her house on Novato's northwest side, halfway between Pleasant Valley Elementary School and San Marin High School.
