Livermore Water Reclamation Plant collects and treats more than 5 million gallons of wastewater daily. The plant has microfiltration and reverse-osmosis facilities that are capable of filtering out impurities, such as bacteria and dissolved chemicals. It features primary, secondary and tertiary treatment processes. Livermore Water Reclamation Plant is owned and maintains by the Water Resources Division, which is a part of the Public Works Department. The division delivers drinking water to more than 28,800 customers. In addition, it serves golf courses, airports, irrigations sites, and commercial and industrial buildings. The Public Works Department is a part of the government of the City of Livermore in California.
