The Livingston Memorial Foundation is a private, charitable foundation established in 1974 by Dr. Charles M. Hair and Ben E. Nordman, Esq. It is dedicated to promoting medical and health services for the people of Ventura County, in accordance with the wishes of Ruth Daily Livingston, the widow of Dr. William R. Livingston, a prominent physician in the region.
In collaboration with local hospitals and the Ventura Visiting Nurse Association, the Livingston Memorial Foundation played a pivotal role in expanding the delivery of county-wide home health care services. As a result, the Visiting Nurse Association changed its name to the Livingston Memorial Visiting Nurse Association. Although separate entities, the LMVNA continues to receive support and encouragement from the Livingston Memorial Foundation Board in its mission to provide comprehensive home health care services to patients in Ventura County, regardless of their ability to pay.
