History
Shota Mkrtumyan was 13 years old when his parents emigrated from to the United States to create a better life for him and his sisters. His upbringing inspired him to help others and make the world around him better. Despite the language barrier and lack of finances, Shota's mother was always looking to give back to the community. She would tutor orphans or kids who were not able to afford school for free. Shota was initially introduced to healthcare as a combat medic in the U.S. Army. Trauma care became his first love as he was able to be there for patients when they needed him the most. After an honorable discharge, he utilized the Army's G.I. bill to educate himself and became a registered nurse. He now wants to give those who are not able to afford tuition the opportunity to better their lives by getting the education they need.
