The Los Angeles County Farm Bureau, founded in 1917, is a nongovernmental, nonprofit membership organization that works to protect, preserve and promote agriculture. The bureau has a network of more than 5000 members. It is affiliated with the California Farm Bureau Federation and the American Farm Bureau Federation. The bureau advocates and supports the economic advancement of agriculture in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Farm Bureau also publishes newsletters. The bureau provides agricultural education programs to students through AGdayLA. It offers scholarships for grade school teachers. In addition, the bureau is responsible for managing farming and ranching. The Los Angeles County Farm Bureau organizes summer teacher agricultural tours.
