Martinez City Hall, at 525 Henrietta Street, is where to go for all city government functions, including paying water bills, pulling building permits, attending city council and planning commission meetings, and for minutes of past meetings.
The City of Martinez is a strong city manager form of government, meaning that the five member City Council sets policy and direction for the city, and the City Manager carries out those policies and directions, as well as managing the staff. The City of Martinez has a separately elected mayor and four city council members. The vice-mayor is a rotating seat, changing once per year.
The City Council usually meets on the first and third Wednesdays, at 7pm, in the City Hall Council Chambers. Past council meetings are available for viewing.
