The Motion Picture Industry Health Plan and the Motion Picture Industry Pension Plan merged in 1990 to form the Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans. Motion Picture Industry Pension and Health Plans, located in Studio City, Calif., are trust funds established by collective bargaining agreements between various unions and employers in the motion picture production industry. The plans are primarily supported by employer contributions engaged in the production of motion pictures or in the business of furnishing materials or services for motion picture productions. It provides various plans for participating unions, guilds and employers. The plans are governed by separate boards of directors appointed by the participating unions and employers. The various participating unions include the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employes, Moving Picture Technicians and Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States and Canada. The fund also offers questionnaires, such as third-party subrogation, and eligibility and conditions for benefits in general and in case of disabilities.
