Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church (OLA) began in the 1950s, to serve the growing post-war population in the suburbs of Sacramento. This church believes in proclaiming "the word of God faithfully" and serving the people of God. OLA strives to build a sense of community among its parishes and, when possible, the diocesan community. In addition to church services, the OLA has been providing a parish school since 1955 for the grades of kindergarten through the eighth grade. Affiliations include: St. Vincent de Paul Society, a vibrant Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, Catholic Faith Formation for public school students, an active Ladies Council and support groups for youth and retired parishioners.
