The Pacifica Youth Service Bureau provides individual, family and group therapy with a focus on youth development. In that vein, it offers intervention through peer support groups targeting issues like bullying, violence, anger management, self-harm, school challenges and gangs.
The Youth Service Bureau, part of the YMCA, also has a presence on many school campuses so students need not travel far to seek assistance. The Service Bureau also runs a "Building Futures" program that pairs at-risk youth with adult volunteers for one-year mentorship relationships. Youth in the criminal justice system also meet with Pacifica Youth Service Bureau staff for mental health counseling and intervention programs.
