Pitzer College was founded in 1963 as a residential women's liberal arts college and the sixth of the seven Claremont Colleges. Today, Pitzer is a co-ed college offering studies in a variety of fields, including popular concentrations such as media studies, psychology, sociology, environmental and political studies and art. Alumni of note include celebrity chef and restaurateur Susan Feniger and Danny Elfman, lead songwriter and vocalist of new wave band Oingo Boingo.
