HistoryI opened up my private practice in 2009 in Newport Beach, CA. Two years ago I moved my practice to Tustin and continue to serve the community I live in and love. 10 years prior to opening up my own practice, I worked for a non-profit agency that contracted with schools providing them with counseling services. I worked with children and adolescents, their parents and the school personnel in a collaborative effort to help these kids with any emotional or psychological issues that may be negatively impacting their experience at school. It was an incredibly rewarding experience. In my private practice I continue to work with children and adolescents as well as adults, couples, young adults in transition, and entire families.SpecialtiesAs a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist, my goal is to help you create the life that you imagine for yourself. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. It has been my experience that therapy helps people in several ways. At times, therapy offers a person, couple or family TIME to take out of their day to focus on themselves and discuss the issues at hand. It can be a place for Clients to tell their story and be heard, which can have a very healing effect. Sometimes it's about the therapist and client working together to identify problem areas and chart a course of action; and other times it's just about being in the room with someone in their struggle offering support and compassion. We are not an island. We need one another. Therapy is ultimately about a relationship between two people where the client can explore difficult issues in an environment of safety and unconditional positive regard.
