HistoryThe Arc of Placer County is a vibrant agency, serving the communities of Placer County and surrounding areas. Started as a grassroots advocacy association by parents in the late 1950's, the agency transformed to give life to 12 programs serving infants, children and adults through the ensuing years. At present, The Arc of Placer County operates 5 programs of fundamental importance to the community, of which individuals with special needs are an integral part.SpecialtiesAdult Achievement Center is unique in its commitment to provide a caring and supportive environment that promotes freedom of choice and self-expression. Clients attending the Adult Achievement Center will gain a better understanding of their world and grow in their ability to overcome challenges and develop healthy relationships. Through program activities they will experience a well-balanced life, develop important living skills, learn to connect with and care for others, and realize their self-worth. They will obtain a higher level of confidence, embracing life with new enthusiasm and a willingness to contribute. We offer pre-vocational training through volunteer experience.
