It's the opposite of a crowded, manicured, man-made city park and must look a lot like it did during ancient times, when the indigenous Tongva tribe had a settlement here. The boulders that fill the landscape are captivating and vary greatly in size and shape. The elevation of the park's main trail climbs considerably, providing excellent views of surrounding areas of the Valley. The adjacent horse stables just to the south add to the "Old West" atmosphere. Stoney Point is a rare natural escape in ultra-urbanized L.A. County.
