Phidippides Running Center strives to provide runners and walkers with the best equipment possible. As a dealer for many brand-name shoes, Phidippides maintains a vast stock of the latest designs. Owner Charlie Hoover has put together a staff of experts who can help customers determine the best footwear for them, based on biomechanical, fit and orthopedic requirements. If the right shoe isn't in stock, Phidippedes can special order. Customers can often be seen running up and down the shopping center testing shoes. The store also stocks plenty of running clothing and accessories. As an experienced and committed runner himself, Hoover keeps up on all the latest information in shoe technology, local running trails, events and even sunscreen. The store hosts running events, including evening runs Tuesday through Thursday at 6:30pm, and special workshops with Phidippides founder Jeff Galloway. Hoover also participates in and promotes various environmental causes.
