Yahir A. Santiago-Lastra, MD is the director of UC San Diego Health's Women's Pelvic Medicine Center, offering comprehensive care for urogynecologic and pelvic floor dysfunctions. With expertise in diagnosing and treating urogenital conditions in both men and women, Dr. Santiago-Lastra specializes in pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction, and other pelvic floor disorders. She also conducts research in transitional care for patients with neurogenic bladder and is fluent in Spanish and French.
Dr. Santiago-Lastra completed her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and her residency in urology at Harvard Medical School. She also pursued a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at the University of Michigan Medical School. As an associate professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, she instructs medical students, residents, and fellows. In her free time, Dr. Santiago-Lastra enjoys traveling with her family and writing non-fiction.
