Dr. C. Dana Clark, who is based in our Loveland and Fort Collins, CO offices, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in anterior hip replacement and knee replacement surgeries.He is recognized as a leading anterior hip replacement specialist in Colorado.Dr. Clark enjoys helping people who have been active in the past regain their physical health and their ability to do many of the activities and hobbies that they enjoy most.He takes care of patients from OCRs service area of northern Colorado, Wyoming, and western Nebraska. He performs hip and knee replacement surgery at hospitals and surgery centers in Fort Collins and Loveland.Dr. Clarks surgeries include: Anterior hip replacement, with the operation done from the front of a patients hip joint, Traditional posterior hip replacement, Knee replacement, With anterior hip replacement, the surgeon operates on the hip from the front, instead of the side or rear of the joint.As the leading anterior hip replacement specialist in northern Colorado, Dr. Clark performs this surgery for 500 patients a year.Dr. Clark also educates other joint replacement surgeons on anterior hip techniques. He teaches courses, and he also hosts orthopaedic surgeons, who visit Dr. Clark at OCRs offices and in the operating rooms to learn more about the anterior hip approach.Dr. Clark also has expertise in these surgeries: primary hip and knee replacementcomplex revisions of joint replacements, computer-assisted hip replacement, computer-assisted knee replacement, minimally invasive joint replacement (for those patients for whom this is an appropriate operation).Prior to joining OCR in 2009, he completed advanced training through a joint replacement fellowship program at the University of Utah. Fellowships provide an additional, or sixth, year of orthopaedic surgery training. Fellowships follow the completion of a physicians residency program.Dr. Clark holds board certification through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Clark is also a fellow of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.Dr. Clark is currently working on an orthopaedic research project to assess the performance of a newly designed total knee implant, comparing it to a knee implant that has been used successfully for some time.Dr. Clark grew up in Farmington, N.M., and enjoys the outdoors, especially rock climbing, mountain biking, and skiing, as well as spending time with his family.He and his wife and children live in Fort Collins.
