Humane Society of Boulder Valley, founded in 1902, is a private, nonprofit corporation, governed by community members who are dedicated to animal welfare. It is funded primarily through private donations and service revenue, and not controlled or funded by any statewide or national organization. The organization is a complete pet resource offering protection, healing, matchmaking, teaching and reuniting. It offers medical care for unwanted and stray domestic animals in Boulder and Broomfield counties in Colorado, subsidized sterilization and medical care for qualified low-income families, full-service veterinary clinic, animal assisted therapy and pet visitation programs, and foster care for injured, orphaned and abused animals. Humane Society of Boulder Valley has a partnership with the YMCA summer camp program. The organization is located in Boulder, Colo.
