Founded in 1901 in Loveland, Colo., Tennyson Center for Children is a community of people dedicated to eliminating child abuse and neglect as well as serving and strengthening children and families. As professionals and concerned citizens it strives to provide competent and caring treatment, educational and advocacy services that are community-based, family-focused and child-centered. Tennyson provides a Gerald H. Phipps Education Center, an accredited school program designed to meet the academic and behavioral needs of students. Public School Support Program services are provided in public school settings as preventive/stabilization interventions or to help transition a student back to public school after successful completion of their program. Sub-Acute services are designed to provide intensive children services that do not meet the strict criteria of psychiatric hospitalization. This unit allows children to stabilize prior to moving to a less restrictive treatment setting and to avoid psychiatric hospitalization by earlier intervention. The company also offers assessment and diagnostic services, 24-hour residential treatment programs as well as day treatment, off-site day treatment programs, community-based family services and aftercare services.
