The small shop specializes strictly in selling materials for hobbyists. Of course, customers need not be hobbyists to be interested in the model airplanes, model rocket kits, model car kits and toy trains that line the shelves. Heritage Hobbies also sells old-fashioned paper, wood and glue model kits as well as more modern kits for building remote controlled operated toys. The shop also sells tools, paints, hobby magazines and school supplies and offers rocketry and remote control flying classes.
Owner Rocco Castango, a lifelong hobbyist himself, has owned the shop since 2004, but the store has been around since the mid-1980s. Heritage Hobbies attracts many kids from the community and the store makes donations to help fund activities at Cranbury elementary school.
