The Policy Development and Planning Division, also known as PDPD, operates under the Office of Policy and Management. The division is responsible for assets and energy management and health and human services. It develops implementation plans in support of the governor's policy initiatives; identifies emerging issues and trends and develops policy proposals to address such issues; and provides interagency coordination and facilitates the collaboration between the executive, legislative and judicial branches of the state government and the state of Connecticut, the federal government and local municipalities. The Policy Development and Planning Division responds to federal legislation, regulation and policy initiatives and implements federal programs and mandates. The Office of Policy and Management was established in 1977 and functions as the governor s staff agency.
