Founded in 1893, Southern Connecticut State University offers more than 115 graduate and undergraduate programs in several subjects to more than 12,000 students. Located in New Haven, Conn., its academic departments include anthropology Judaic studies, liberal studies, marine studies, mathematics, media studies, music, philosophy, and management and management information systems. Additionally, the university s athletic program includes cross country, field hockey, football, volleyball, swimming and lacrosse. Southern Connecticut State University also has several clubs and organizations that include business administration club, campus crusade for Christ, chemistry club, Chinese student association, economics club, environmental futurists, physiology club, sports medicine club, stepping up drill team, student arts league, student government association and students for overseas learning.
