Established in 1974, The National Institute of Building Sciences is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. Authorized by the U.S. Congress, the institute provides an authoritative source as well as an opportunity for discussion among private and public sectors within the environment. Members of the National Institute of Building Sciences develop and implement technical and procedural improvements and interact with other nationally recognized colleagues through the Institute's councils, committees and programs.
