In 1978, the work of the Studio Acting Conservatory lead to the founding of Studio Theatre, within which the Conservatory took up a 40-year residence. After 44 years, the conservatory has grown to become its own independent training institution.

The conservatory also serves as a bridge to the broader world of theatre to maintain a current and continued best-in-class training for the modern actor. Noted by Variety and Washingtonian Magazine, the Studio Acting Conservatory is the premier training institution for actors and directors in Washington, DC. For over 40 years, 10,000 alumni have gone on to important theatre and film careers. The conservatory is led by a 20-member faculty of committed professionals who teach 500 students--of every age and background--each year.
