Originally founded by Don Facundo Bacardi Masso in 1862 in Santiago de Cuba, Bacardi U.S.A., a division of Bacardi International, is one of the world's largest privately held, family-owned spirits company. The company produces a variety of rums, including Bacardi Superior and Bacardi 151. The company sells in excess of 240 million bottles per year in 170 countries. Company sales total more than $3 billion in 2004. The company also owns Martini & Rossi, Grey Goose vodka, Bombay Sapphire gin, Dewar s Scotch whisky, Drambuie Scotch whisky, DiSaronno Amaretto and B&B and Benedictine liqueurs. The company also distributes the Jack Daniels and Southern Comfort brands. Bacardi International maintains its corporate headquarters in Hamilton, Bermuda, and has its primary production facilities in Puerto Rico. Bacardi U.S.A. is headquartered in Miami.
