History
I was always handy making things out of wood. A friend told me about getting scraps of corian to use instead. I began by making things for my family, and graduated to more of a variety of pieces. I ordered books of patterns and started small and gradually was making more intricate pieces and decided to enter a craft show. Now I attend around 20 shows each year and have won prizes at many different events.
Specialties
I make very unique scroll saw pieces, hand cut from various woods or Corian. Many of them are very intricately cut. The wood pieces are all 3-D and are very beautiful and unusual. In Corian I make portraits of singers, movie stars, religious icons, Native Americans, and Nascar drivers. Some other categories you will find are patriotic, fantasy, animals, humorous and trivets. I also convert photos to patterns and make custom pieces of people and pets out of Corian. Visit my web site at donscrafts.net to see everything I make. Whether you are looking for yourself or for a gift, you will find something you like.
