Founded in 1879, Florida Memorial University is one of the oldest academic centers in Florida. It offers more than 40 undergraduate and graduate degree programs through over five academic schools. The university maintains a library that has a stock of nearly 115, 000 books, journals and newspapers, as well as can accommodate up to 500 students. Florida Memorial University s schools provide classes in mathematics, social science, reading, and visual and performing arts. The university s schools offer opportunities for students to participate in a range of sports activities, such as volleyball, basketball, baseball, cheerleading, cross-country, and track and field. Florida Memorial University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
