The American Society of Heating aims to advance the arts and science of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and related human factors to serve the needs of the public and ASHRAE members. The private company was formed in 1959 by a merger of two societies: American Society of Heating and Ventilating Engineers and American Society of Refrigerating Engineers. American Society of Heating products include air-cleaning equipment, air conditioning accessories and units, air-distribution equipment, air handlers, boilers, building automated systems, water treatments, vibration and noise control devices, valves, tools, VAV equipment, thermal storage, software, rooftop accessories, refrigeration equipment, pumps, motors, insulation, instruments and meters, humidifiers and multiple other products and related services. American Society of Heating is based in Atlanta and employs more than 100 people.
