The South Precinct of the Gwinnett County Police Dept., which shares the same address with the county's No. 22 Fire Station, is one of five precincts serving around 800,000 residents county-wide.
The precinct covers 116 square miles, including unincorporated Lilburn. It also serves unincorporated areas of Tucker, Stone Mountain, Snellville, Lawrenceville, Centerville and Loganville, as well as the City of Grayson.
Maj. Mindy Bayreuther is the precinct commander.
In the last available statistics (2009), South Precinct officers answered 144,772 calls, made 2,896 criminal arrests and issued 17,507 traffic citations.
