Founded in 1948, the Southern Regional Education Board is a nonprofit and nonpartisan organization. It works with leaders and policymakers in more than 16 member states in improving prekindergarten through postsecondary education. The organization offers a variety of nationally recognized programs and services. It helps in developing college-readiness education programs for high school students. The organization offers a Web site for e-learners and adult learners. In addition, it provides a regional council on collegiate nursing education. The organization helps in improving early childhood and elementary education programs. It additionally helps in improving nursing education and educational technology cooperative. It is supported through funds from foundations and state and federal agencies.
