Atlanta Unity Church (AUC) is not a typical church, as it proclaims itself to be a "center for practical spirituality." The lesser-known denomination, Unity, is commonly mistaken for Unitarian, though the two are very different. AUC pursues a metaphysical, Christian approach, which is one of the reasons for its widespread popularity. The building is set in a modern business park, where it has been since 2006, when it uprooted itself from its previous location in Decatur to accommodate an ever-increasing following.
