Who is Macon Soccer Club Board of Directors - Our Board is made up of 7 members. We are a Self-Perpetuating Board. We meet when we feel the necessity. Most communication by Board Members takes place by e-mail. Our responsibility is to set up a "system" with the "right people" in place. Facilities - We are a private organization and receive no support from any Government Organizations. Our Facility is debt-free. We can thank those who came before us and put many years of money and energy into providing us a beautiful complex for all ages to play soccer. Who owns the Facilities? - Everyone that registers with Macon Soccer Club, has partial ownership. It is "your" complex. It is your grass. It is your soccer goals. It is your parking lot. It is your concessions. It is your Pavillion. Are there employees? - We have a few positions that are paid positions, such as Trainers for our Academy and Select. But it operates from Volunteers. I (Fred) am a volunteer dad that has had 3 children involved through the years. We have 64 Parents who have stepped up and volunteered to coach in our Recreational Program and we have Academy and Select Team Managers as well as Academy and Select Coaches. We have multiple other ways that families volunteer. Who does the various responsiblities? - Volunteers! When you see trash on "your" complex, it is not "their" trash that "they" need to pick-up, it is "your" trash that someone else dropped on "your" grass. When the bathrooms are not clean, it is not when are "they" going to clean "their" bathrooms, it is when are "we" going to clean "our" bathrooms or when am "I" going to clean "my" bathrooms. If you see the swing set that is improperly hanging from the post, who is going to fix it? A volunteer! There actually is a list of projects that needs to be completed. To Sum it Up - Macon Soccer Club is basically You, Me and Others joining together to provide a safe, relaxed, clean and FUN environment for our children to have a learning experience. Soccer??? It is just a "Tool" we use for teaching our children the more important things about life. Committment, Team Unity, Responsibility, Respect for Authority, Handling Pressure, Handling both Losing and Winning, Truly enjoying Sports, Appreciation of Health, Enjoyment of God's great outdoors that he made for us.
