This 11.2-acre park is home to two tennis courts, a softball field, playground, pavilion and walking trail. Known as "The Rec" during the 1970s, the park has a center named for neighborhood sports legend Anthony Flanagan, who worked at the center and attended The University of Georgia on both a football and basketball scholarship in 1974. Flanagan was the first African-American quarterback at the school.
In addition to offering green space for the Cascade Heights community, West Manor Park provides several sports and community services including ALTA and USTA tennis teams and a Future Seekers Inc. after-school and summer program for young women ages 13-17.
The park is supported by The Friends of West Manor Park, a community group affiliated with Park Pride of Atlanta. The city's Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs maintains the site.
