Established in 1919, Albert Whitman & Company is an independent publisher of children's books. It publishes books on topics that include divorce, disability, bullying and interracial families. Most of its titles are geared toward children in preschool through sixth grade. AW&T are well known for the Boxcar Children Mysteries and for the concept books that deal with children's problems and special needs. AW&C also publish picture books, nonfiction, biographies and novels. AW&C also publish multicultural books, holiday books and prairie paperbacks. Albert Whitman & Company is headquartered in Morton Grove, Ill.
