Hinsdale United Methodist Church recently celebrated its 50th birthday with a renewed spirit to continue serving the community with compassion and inspiration. HUMC encourages members to become involved with the local homeless shelter and the Bridges Communities. At Bridges, the church sponsors a local family that may be down on their luck. During a two-year period, Bridges mentors the family members, helping them find jobs and a home. To raise money for this cause, the church hosts a silent auction and dinner in October. In addition to its outreach and mission programs, the church also has a 12-step program.
