History of the Burr Ridge Veterinary Clinic The Burr Ridge Veterinary Clinic ( BRVC ) has been serving the western suburbs of Chicago since 1976. From our inception, we have continued to develop a reputation with our clients and our fellow veterinary specialists as a clinic that offers the highest levels of patient advocacy and compassionate care. Started by Dr. Richard Velders, the BRVC began as a single doctor practice in Burr Ridge, Illinois. Dr. Velders' clientele base continued to grow with the clinic's reputation for compassionate care. This eventually led to an addition to the clinic building which included expansion and remodeling of the waiting room, additional kennel and storage space and a staff lounge. In 1982, Dr. Velders brought Dr. Gregg Greiner aboard, but after a few years a third veterinarian was needed. In 1987, Dr. Velders hired Dr. Brian Rooney as the third member of the Burr Ridge Veterinary Clinic team of doctors. Dr. Velders soon partnered with Dr. Greiner and Dr. Rooney, and the BRVC continued to grow. In 1994, Dr. Jeff Palmer joined the BRVC as the fourth veterinarian. In 1999, after helping to build the BRVC and its reputation as one of the leading veterinary care practices in the Chicagoland area, Dr. Velders sold his remaining interest of the practice to Dr. Greiner, Dr. Rooney and Dr. Palmer. Dr. Velders continued working part-time as an associate veterinarian until June 2007, when he retired. Over the past 30 years, the BRVC has seen a great response to our brand of compassionate veterinary care among our peers and within the surrounding community. Our doctors and dedicated support staff are committed to our mission and vision developed by Dr. Velders in 1976 and refined by the current owners. In the future, we will continue to offer our clients and their pets the very best in veterinary counseling and care.
